Procedures and Fees
For Use of School Facilities
I. Availability of Facility:
A. Individuals or groups that desire to use any athletic facilities (gyms, fields, tracks) of the WSISD should contact Jenifer Smith to check on availability and pricing.
B. Individuals or groups that desire to use the facilities of the WSISD (other than athletic facilities) should contact the WSISD Business Office to check on availability and pricing.
C. Final approval of facility usage (athletic or non-athletic) will be given by the Assistant Superintendent of Business.
D. School facilities may not be used on Sundays by an organization other
than an established religious group for church services. Use for such services will be limited to a maximum period of six months; however, the use period may be extended provided the church has a building under construction due to be completed in a reasonable time, not to exceed twelve (12) months total.
II. Application/Agreement for Use of Facilities:
A. Individuals or groups must submit an Application/Agreement for Facility Use. The application form can be obtained from the WSISD Business Office. The Assistant Superintendent of Business or designee must approve the application. After approval, the applicant will be notified and must submit payment and proof of insurance to the WSISD Business Office. All fees are payable in advance. Reservation of a facility is contingent upon the receiving payment.
B. Written application to the Assistant Superintendent of Business or designee shall be made at least ten days in advance. Approval shall not be granted for any purpose that would damage school property or to groups that are known to have damaged other rented property.
C. The district will arrange for a custodian and air or heat to be turned on.
III. School Representative on Duty
The school district shall have a custodian and/or other district official on duty throughout the time the facility is in use. This person will prepare the facility for use and will be responsible for closing the facility after its use. Any movement of furniture will be under the supervision of the custodian or other representative of the school district. No alterations to the facility of any kind will be allowed without written request and approval by the building principal.
IV. Religious Groups
School facilities may not be used on Sundays by any organizations other than an established religious group for church services. Use of facilities for such services will be limited to a maximum period of six months; however, the use period may be extended provided the church has a building under construction due to be completed in a reasonable time, not to exceed twelve (12) months total. The evaluation criteria shall include:
A. Percentage of participation by residents of the district.
B. Proof of progress in occupying the church group’s new facility.
C. That cost incurred to the district for labor, damages and associated wear and tear to the district facilities are adequately being recovered through the fee and deposit being charged during the rental period.
Rules/Regulations for Facility Rental:

$20/hour (per required custodian) CUSTODIAL SERVICES: Requested on all events that are not during the regular custodial working hours. |

The White Settlement I.S.D. has categorized usage fees into three (3) groups to better serve the local community. The groups are as follows:
GROUP 1 - WSISD events, educational meetings to include staff or student
meetings, and school programs:
A. WSISD Booster Clubs
B. WSISD Parent/Teacher Organizations
C. WSISD Ex-Student Association
D. State, County, and Local elections (precinct polling places)
E. WSISD Professional Teacher Organizations
F. White Settlement Boy/Girl Scouts of America or any other youth group listed in Title 36 of the United States Code
G. WSISD Education Foundation
H. WS Youth Association
GROUP 2 - Other Accredited Educational Institutions:
A. Groups or organizations that serve populations primarily consisting of WSISD students, staff and community
B. Other School Districts
C. Professional Education Organizations
D. Colleges and Universities
Non-profit community groups, Civic Organizations and Youth
Group as defined below:
A. Must demonstrate non-profit status as defined by Section 501 (C) of the Internal Revenue Code.
B. Established for the purpose of enriching the lives and education of children and/or the community of WSISD district.
C. Must certify at least 50% of the children to be residents of the White Settlement I.S.D.
Other organizations, Churches:
A. Groups/Organizations not charging admission fees to participate.
GROUP 3 - For-profit organizations, commercial organizations charging
admission fee to participate.
ADDENDUM
The district does not accept Application/Agreement For Facility Use on such areas as “playing fields”. These areas are used based on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. The district does request that if two organizations wish to utilize the same “playing field” facility, representatives from each organization will work an agreement for use.
